Malgorzata Kohutnicka, MD, PhD
Dr. Kohutnicka obtained her MD and PhD degrees from the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. She studied the inflammatory process in the MPTP murine model of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Kohutnicka held Assistant and Adjunct Professor positions in the Department of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, Medical University of Warsaw, Poland. She joined Dr. Bankiewicz’s Laboratory of Molecular Medicine and Neuroscience at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Visiting Fellow for 2.5 years and focused on preclinical models of Parkinson’s disease and the study of AAV2-AADC gene therapy in the MPTP nonhuman primate model of Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Kohutnicka transitioned to clinical research and joined Clinical Research Organizations in Europe (Pharmacon Research and Pharm-Olam International) where she has gained extensive experience in leadership and management of clinical trials of wide spectrum indications and brings this experience now to BrainNeuBio.
